The Deep Clean Chronicles

So you have taken the steps necessary to book a cleaner for the first time in a long time. Your house is just a little messier than usual, mainly because you are working more and cleaning less…it´s not that bad though. Why would you need a DEEP CLEAN?

Okay, well from a professional cleaning person’s POV (that’s point of view for those of you not on TikTok 24/7) there is a great reason why we tell you that the first clean with us is going to be a little more expensive. I am going to go into details about all this below to shed some light on what it actually takes to get your SPACE looking squeaky clean.

  1. The deep dark corners - we all have those places in our homes that the vacuum just misses of that we don’t really notice after a while. My personal favourite to show clients is behind doors. When they are always open we don’t always see the dust and dirt that accumulates there. There is no shame in that though friend, because that is what my job is…to help you get to those hard-to-reach places. A cleaning person is there to do the stuff that you can’t or don’t see. That takes a little more time at the beginning because we are learning where these hidden little dirt magnets are in your home as well. And we take no prisoners when it comes to getting them really clean.

  2. Pets pets pets - Full disclosure, I am a bird person. I have two small birds that I love to let terrorize me at their will by having free run of my house. This leads to little feathers and other presents being left behind in weird places. You might be a dog person, and there could be little surprises for us as well, either lurking in the basement or behind the sofa. Anything is possible when we share our homes with the descendants of wolves and cougars (I’m not talking about your aunt Melinda). Pets bring another level of care and it will take us longer to deal with a home with pets that hasn’t had a deep clean in a while.

  3. Soap and hard water - Calgary is notorious for hard water stains and that silly water just LOVES to create soap scum in our showers and on our glass shower doors. When we first arrive at your home and it hasn’t had a good deep clean for a while, we know that we will need to spend a few more minutes cleaning the bath and shower. And honestly it makes sense: You get us, you get in, you get out, and you get on with your day. Once a deep clean has happened, we know that even having cleaning done every two weeks makes the world of difference in your bathroom and keeps that scum and staining at bay - big time!
